The strength of the La Roue’s garden city is the uniformity of the houses. Our city consists of about 1,000 households, most of which live in single-family houses, which correspond to 5 – 10 standardised models. It would therefore be possible to develop standard modules (facade type A, B, C, roof type I, II, III…) and replicate the same concept on 10, 50 or 100 houses.
The grouped renovation would allow us to make it :
Cheaper
Thanks to the economies of scale for works and materials, facilitated by modular solutions from which each household could choose the best suited one to their home.
Easier
Together, we can cooperate with the Commune of Anderlecht to obtain a standard permit, which would be applicable to each construction site of the same type, or a grouped permit.
We can apply for municipal and regional projects in order to obtain subsidies as well as technical and organisational support.
More accessible
With a larger project, we will be able to cooperate with financing organisations to be able to offer innovative financing solutions or interest-free or very low-interest loans in the very long term.
This will make the project accessible to households that would have difficulties in financing their renovation.
Better quality
With a larger project, we will be able to attract quality companies, which might not have shown interest in an individual project.
We will be able to share experiences and avoid repeating the same mistakes.
